SUVs don’t come any sportier than the 2025 Dodge Hornet. This compact crossover utility vehicle is available in four trim levels, each with distinct features to cater to the differing needs of Charlevoix drivers. We look at the differences between the GT, GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus.
1. GT
At its heart is a 2.0-liter turbocharged Hurricane engine that generates an impressive 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The result is a top speed of 140 mph, making this Hornet the fastest CUV in its class. Dodge mates this powerful Hurricane with an all-wheel-drive layout and a responsive nine-speed automatic transmission for optimum traction and handling.
Interior Highlights
The refined leatherette-lined interior is spacious and refined, with dual-zone climate control automating the temperature throughout. Drivers receive a six-way adjustable seat and a flat-bottomed tilt/telescoping steering wheel to adjust the cockpit to their liking.
A fully customizable 12-inch instrument display relays important vehicle information and warning messages to the driver. Infotainment is delivered by Dodge’s Uconnect 5 system, giving you a large 10.25-inch color touchscreen with wireless smartphone compatibility and the ability to save up to five user profiles.
2. GT Plus
Building on the GT, the GT Plus receives a luxurious makeover. A power sunroof bathes the leather-lined cabin in natural light, and front passengers receive a comfort boost from heated and ventilated power-adjustable seats. An infotainment upgrade sees the inclusion of an integrated navigation system.
3. R/T
The GT may be the fastest in the segment, but it’s the R/T that earns the award for the quickest. This trim is based on the GT but introduces electric power, swapping the Hurricane with a 1.4-liter T4 PHEV to boost torque to a mighty 383 pound-feet and propel the R/T to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds. Dodge also equips this Hornet with a PowerShot feature, which gives you an instant injection of 30 ponies, bringing the total to 288 horsepower.
Where this hybrid outshines its gas brethren is in terms of efficiency, as the hybrid system allows you to drive on all-electric power for 32 miles, ideal for running local errands, short commutes, or ferrying the kids to school. The R/T also gains more comfort features, including heated front seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
4. R/T Plus
Heading the lineup is the R/T Plus, the ultimate Hornet, which brings together the hybrid capabilities and performance of the R/T with the premium features of the GT Plus.
