2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For 2022, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been fully redesigned with a more refined and elegant design, a luxuriously appointed cabin, and updated safety and technology features. It also offers the option of a 4xe plug-in hybrid engine.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new Grand Cherokee is available in Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve trim levels, each with unique design characteristics. It comes standard with LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, and heated mirrors with turn signals. The Altitude offers rain-sensing wipers, 20-inch wheels, and a power liftgate, while Limited models add LED fog lights.
Going with the rugged Trailhawk gets you unique off-road features, along with automatic power-folding memory mirrors and a black roof and hood decal. The Overland trim and above feature approach lighting, front lighting animation, auto-tilting mirrors, and a hands-free tailgate. The Summit Reserve gives you 21-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
The Grand Cherokee's standard engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 delivering 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Optional for Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve four-wheel-drive models is a powerful 5.7-liter V-8 engine that makes 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet. Powering 4xe models is a 2.0-liter turbocharged PHEV engine that generates an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. All powertrains feature an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive is standard on most Grand Cherokee models, or you can opt for four-wheel drive, which comes standard on Trailhawk and Summit Reserve trims. A choice of three four-wheel-drive systems enables the Grand Cherokee to handle the toughest terrain. With the V-6 engine, you get a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds, while V-8 models can pull up to 7,200 pounds.
Interior
In the Grand Cherokee's sophisticated cabin, you'll find ample seating for five, along with plenty of cargo space. The Laredo features fabric upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, reclining rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system has an 8.4-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and smartphone integration.
Stepping up to the Altitude trim gets you leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a wireless phone charger. The Limited trim offers driver's seat memory and heated rear seats, while the Trailhawk has ventilated front seats and navigation. With the Overland, you get wood and chrome accents and a dual-pane sunroof.
The Summit adds a massaging driver's seat, a power-adjustable passenger seat, four-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.1-inch touch screen. The Summit Reserve features ventilated rear seats, a front passenger interactive touch screen, and a premium 19-speaker sound system.
Safety Features
The Grand Cherokee helps keep you in control with standard electronic stability control, four-wheel traction control, advanced brake assist, and rain brake support. It also offers adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning, a lane management system, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic detection, and rear park assist with stop.
Depending on the model, available driver assistance features include drowsy driver alert, highway assist, junction collision assist, side distance warning, traffic sign recognition, and an automatic parking system. An available off-road camera helps you avoid obstacles on the trails.
